Rachel is a Law Society Mental Health accredited practitioner, a Law Society Mental Capacity (welfare) accredited practitioner and an “Accredited Legal Representative”, allowing clients to confidently choose a solicitor with specialist expertise and the experience of working closely with vulnerable individuals and their family to understand and protect their rights.

Rachel handles a range of cases dealt with in the Court of Protection and has particular interest in representing clients in health and welfare cases, including best interest decisions in addition to representing clients dealing with challenges to Deprivation of Liberty. Rachel has previously acted on behalf of the Official Solicitor, as well as regularly working with Independent Mental Capacity Advocates, RPR’s and the families of vulnerable adults.

Rachel additionally often acts for clients who have ongoing difficulties with Social Services and the NHS and other public bodies; she continues to represent clients before the Mental Health Tribunal and deals with complex mental health law cases.

Rachel remains a member of the Mental Health Lawyers Association, Court of Protection Practitioners Group, and is an external Assessor for both the Law Society’s mental capacity scheme and mental health scheme.

Rachel obtained a First Class Honours Degree in Law from the University of Glamorgan and went on to study the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law. Rachel has over 15 years experience in mental health and mental capacity law.  She joined the firm in 2008.
